Research by the Campaign for the Arts shows that since 2011, arts teaching hours have dropped by 23%.

Since 2010, GCSE and A-level entries in arts subjects have fallen by 48% and 31% respectively.

Think about that: nearly half the opportunities for young people to study arts at GCSE have disappeared in just over a decade.

With the Government’s plans, we are finally getting desperately needed reforms to tackle declining arts education in England’s schools.
