Plans for a 100% cut to arts funding in Windsor and Maidenhead have been scrapped, with the council instead committing to a 17% increase.
It follows a major campaign that had support from local MP Theresa May.
Nearly 5,000 people signed a petition by Public Campaign for the Arts opposing the proposals for the council’s 2022/23 budget, that would have seen all grant funding cut for the arts.
