Campaign for the Arts director Jack Gamble has highlighted how creatives are having to rely on multiple sources of income due to an inability to earn a living from their art.
He also highlighted the disproportionate challenge for artists who do not “come from money”.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Money Box, Gamble said that, for early-career artists, spending money on their creative work rather than profiting from it was a “norm”.
