We are looking for professional freelance arts photographers to join a new Affiliate Photographer Network as part of a one-year pilot scheme.
As an Affiliate Photographer, you would:
📦 Contribute at least 4 small batches of images over the year (adjusted to fit your working rhythms), drawn from arts projects, performances or creative activity you are already documenting in the course of your work in the UK
Prioritise variety and visual distinctiveness: aim to capture a broad range of arts activity that is engaging, dynamic, and striking in composition, subject, or style
🖌️ Help us bring ‘the arts’ to life in our advocacy work across social media, blog posts, newsletters, campaigns and other communications
🏷️ Be credited by name and/or tagged whenever your work is used, alongside the featured artists, organisations and venues as much as possible, with optional profiling on our website and social media as part of the network
📜 Communicate clearly with clients to set expectations and standard terms of your role as an Affiliate Photographer, enabling a selection of images from shoots to be used confidently and securely by the Campaign for the Arts
©️ Retain full copyright of your work; the Campaign for the Arts will receive non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free rights to use the contributed images in our work championing, defending and expanding access to the arts and culture, for and with the public.
💰 Receive a modest annual retainer of £600 in recognition of your time and generous support of the charity and the campaign.
This is a light, low-admin contribution that helps champion the arts sector while celebrating your work as an artist in your own right.
To apply to be part of this pilot scheme, please complete the following form by 1 July 2026. It will ask you for basic information, and then give you space to describe – in your own words – the work you expect to undertake over the next year, and provide some examples of past work.
We’re not looking for the busiest or most established photographers: we’re looking for the most interesting combination of people, places, practices and perspectives that we can accommodate in this pilot. We actively welcome early-career photographers, and we’re particularly keen to hear from women, disabled artists, and those who represent and/or document underrepresented artforms and communities. What matters most is that you are out there doing the work.
Finally, if you have any questions about the scheme or the form, please don’t hesitate to send a message to Liam at recruitment@campaignforthearts.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
