Campaigners have warned that culture funding has been “hollowed out” and is putting the future of bodies such as Arts Council England at risk, with new data pointing to a further 6% cut to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport in this financial year already.
The analysis by Campaign for the Arts has revealed that DCMS’ real-terms funding per citizen has dropped by almost a third since 2010.
