Jack Gamble: Creatives are relying on jobs outside of the arts to survive

Campaign for the Arts director Jack Gamble has highlighted how creatives are having to rely on multiple sources of income due to an inability to earn a living from their art.

He also highlighted the disproportionate challenge for artists who do not “come from money”.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Money Box, Gamble said that, for early-career artists, spending money on their creative work rather than profiting from it was a “norm”.
