Last week, grassroots group Campaign for the Arts launched an online petition against the cut, which has received nearly 14,000 signatures at the time of writing.

Jack Gamble, director of Campaign for the Arts, said: “The Scottish government’s plan to cut Creative Scotland is a short-sighted move that will cause long-lasting and potentially irreversible damage.”
