The Big Freelancer Report

Whereas freelancers make up 16% of the nation’s workforce, in the performing arts this figure rises to 71%.

The Public Campaign for the Arts is one of several advocacy and campaign groups that has been proud to support the creation of The Big Freelancer Report.

One year on from the beginning of the pandemic, the report maps the problems facing the freelance workforce and makes practical recommendations for change.

Plain language and audio versions are also available here.

The Big Freelancer Report was created by an independent group of performing arts freelancers, supported by Freelancers Make Theatre Work and funded by Arts Council England.
